Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Thank you for being a great support tonight. I hope the horror film works for you - don't think that's one I'm going to try! Good night

  • Night hon, but drop by any time as there're many others here happy to chat too. Sending you hugs xxx

  • Hello Homebird

Sorry that you've found yourself here and I hope you managed to get some sleep.

I'm sure the wait for your results is not helping and your mind can go into overdrive. As Gill has already said, a call to 111 later may help.

  • Good Morning

Welcome to the Macmillan Online community - I see you have had some cracking support from members of this group overnight - I am the other way round and could sleep through a thermo-dynamic nuclear war (and my wife trying to get me out of bed!!).

We do have a specific group you may wish to join and here's the link you need:

    Brain cancer forum

Once you click on the link and the page opens up, click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. Once you have joined the group you can introduce yourself in the "New Here - Say Hello" section.

This group "Awake and Up All Night" is very active and I would also stay in touch with the good folk here too.

Please do contact our Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) as they will be able to help you. A call to 111 today to discuss your situation today is also a good idea.

I wish you well and if you need any he;p in navigating the Community please do get back to me.

    Best wishes - Brian.
