Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Gill,
The film was good... quite different to the first two but still good... I do like going to the cinema, my family ran a local video store in the 80s so I'd say I get my love for films from then. Like anything with a decent storyline and good actors... though not keen on all out action films or marvel... the matrix trilogy (forget the fourth!) and the green mile I could watch again and again.
Also feel better just for getting out

Fantastic stuff Steve!
Oh I'm pleased you enjoyed it and yes, getting out is good for the soul. Excellent!
We've got The Green Mile on DVD and love it! Like yourself, we've easily seen it four or five times even though it's a really long film. It was on telly the other night and I started watching, again, but sleep conquered me for once and it'd ended when I woke up. A film I've watched even more is Alien, just love it! I first saw it in 1979, a couple of months before my first daughter was born. Before you ask, the scene where baby alien erupts from John Hurt's gut didn't send me into premature labour - I've got steely reserves. Lol!
We got our first video recorder around 1983 so we shot down to the video shop and hired First Blood and The Exorcist. Unfortunately, the latter's picture scrambled at a very crucial part and wrecked it. I think someone had dabbled with the video. Gutted at the time. You'd have had your pick back then, what with your family running the store. Nice one.
Anyway lad, I hope you manage some decent kip tonight. If you run the film back in your mind and focus fully on that, it might work. It has done for me sometimes. Really nice chatting.

Just popping in briefly. After my hospital A&E visit yesterday....no, the day before as we've passed midnight...my catheter tube and bag turned a demoralising red. I've had it a few times after a catheter change. Anyway, I began the routine of drinking extra water which improved matters by the late evening. However, when I emptied my bag at midnight before going up to bed the red outflow started again. I decided to stay up until 3am to settle things down again. Whilst doing this, I put on my headphones and listened to a 25min hypnotherapy relaxation video on you tube. Next thing I knew it was 7am, still in the same position in my armchair. Surprisingly, I felt completely comfortable. Better still, the bag looked normal. I have never switched off like that before even though I had listened to the video several times in the last year. Tonight I'm hoping to restore a more conventional schedule. About to go to bed now. Goodnight all.
Hi Sheelagh. Sorry I missed your post early doors but I zonked out suddenly and didn't wake up till later.
Right, if you're around you have my full attention. Firstly, how are you now? I know you got rotten news and felt for you love. I hope you've got someone to talk to in the flesh but if you'd rather not, come back here and talk to us.
Don't know about Norwich but it's stuffy here - it makes me feel lethargic and I don't want to put much effort in. Does it get you the same? Hey, I hope it is Norwich where you are or you'll wonder what on earth I'm on about! I'm blaming the weather, it's making my head hurt
Hope to chat soon lovely.

Evening Gilly, still here, just getting on with life, a day in hospital after my new meds caused an anaphylaxis episode, luckily my partner carries an EpiPen, and realised what was happening and took great pleasure sticking it in me.
We've had three different day trips, meeting a friend from the forum on one.
I help with a metastatic group at a local cancer charity, and I also did a speech on prostate cancer.
Had to make the house and garden, Mandy proof, as allergy family are off to Disney world, and the little angel is stopping with Granddad.
Today my youngest daughter FINALLY, got married, a long long fab day, got home just after 10pm, what a scorcher 32C, lovely. but a beautiful ceremony and fun reception.
Off to Wales on Monday with friends, Prestatyn, never been so if any suggestions, much appreciated.
I have been reading many of the posts, I see a few new faces, and a couple I've talked to before SarahH21, I've known 15 months, we first met on the sex and cancer thread, one of the most illuminating and inspiring threads I know, this is a wonderful thread to my friend, and much of the reason why, is you.
Eddie xx
Hi there Eddie!
Wow, you have been busy - don't know where you get the energy!
Oh blimey, that doesn't sound good about the episode with the meds and it's a good job your partner was on the ball with the pen. Let's hope there isn't a repeat performance.
The wedding sounded fantastic, what a grand day to remember but what's with the FINALLY? Have you been waiting to offload the lass or did she finally realise it was time to make an honest woman of herself? Lol! My eldest has been engaged to her chap for 16 years!! They've mooted a wedding but I reckon they're happy as they are with their two 'kids' of the feline variety.
Now I've never been to Wales but would like to. I've made a good friend here, Deb11, who lives in west Wales and it sounds glorious. I'm not sure if she knows Prestatyn but I'll ask.
Sarah's great, isn't she, and what an incredible woman she is too. Superwoman doesn't come near!I It's great that new posters have appeared and enjoy having a natter - I love yapping on.
Enjoy your little Angel's visit and have plenty of fun! Thanks for the chat my friend.

Hi Gilly, finally refers to her having six kids before she decided to get married, lol, I'm a bit of a hypocrite really, I have four kids and never married, thanks for asking Deb about Prestatyn for me, I'd rather hear from one person I know, than a hundred reviews, we, Sheila and I came close to getting married two times in the last year, but things happen, anyway my friend, I'm cream crackerd, so wil hopefully get some sleep, hope your not far behind xx
