Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  •   was that 'Silentnight' (other brands are available).

  • Morning Steve Blush

I also thought it was free when I tried that time, but as I went along I was stopped and a subscription was mentioned. Maybe I did something wrong but I'll have another go soon.

I've got more family reveals if you'd like to hear them - very Catherine Cookson like. But I've got to crack on as we've got an appointment. See you soon and have a great morning xxx

  • If you have more family reveals, I'm all ears!!  I bet there's some juicy stuff!

For service records:  First go to Direct gov - Service record request. You will need a copy of his death certificate.

The British Legion and the National Archives for further information.

    When I know more...

Has anyone else on Macmillan had any success trying this?

  • Gill bought the pillows and they are Silentnight I believe.

  • Hi again Steve.

To answer your earlier question, I do indeed call my pillow Copper as the name's emblazoned on both sides. Wish I'd bought two now. Anyway, to join Mr Sticky, H has named his Walter. It's a bit convoluted how he got that name, but he lived up to it this morning in the hospital. After our dinner, and a toilet call, I noticed Walter had gone AWOL. I asked at reception if he'd been handed in, so after being told no, the guy and myself spent a good ten minutes searching for the damn stick! He was eventually found in the invalid loo, while H sat and let us do the honours. I was infuriated and quietly went off the deep end with him. I did not enjoy playing where's Wally at all!

I'll look at your tip about finding those records, as I've got a copy of dad's DC somewhere upstairs. Thanks for the info fella xxx

  • you need sleep when you can get it in the middle of the night

  • Hi Gilly, sorry, another long day, my friend, I  hope Wakey went well, my Onco meet went ok and it's carry on as before for another 8 weeks, and have come home with 6 appointments for early January, but all before J&J return home, so it's looking good for joining them.

Well I've never really fancied going to Australia, it would have been nice to meet Sheila's sister and maybe she'll visit us, which would be lovely, but  oh dear my friend, hubby's family sound like even Australia isn't far enough away for you both,

Tarbert is nice, it's just so far away, and we keep away from bonfires and keep to organised displays but sparklers are fab and super safe for kids of all ages,

The magic pillow? who knows maybe it is, as in the fairy tale, and you've decided your pillow is male, maybe you should call it Eddie, I'm good at sending people to sleep, I did read you slept pretty well again, fab news my friend. XX

  • Evening Stevie, I was fortunate to get wonderful assistance from the Polish embassy, who gave me so much information about the family, and my dad's closest friend who filled in many of the blanks, and we don't know anything beyond mum's dad, who was a total B.

    Eddie xx

  • Hi , and welcome to our friendly little family, how are you managing with the sleep demons my friend.

    Eddie

  • Hi  , and another warm welcome from me, if you'd like to introduce yourself, you'll find we're a very friendly bunch, and .maybe we can help each other, absolutely your choice, my friend.
