Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • why are you so amazing -hols end in 2 weeks got family coming out

back to UK to get ready for Christmas -money money money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great to have met you and I think I cocked up with eediel but I sent him something that keeps me going the words - illness or not - "Nobody Promised Tomorrow"

I just said it to him in a way of saying sorry

Had a left side mastectomy that's why I keep telling everyone if I get things wrong

"that I am a right tit" London saying

    But it makes me laugh

love you and all with you xx

  • Aw thanks hon, that's lovely of you to say. You've still got a lot of holiday left so that's brilliant! I'm not going to tell you it's too early to talk about Christmas cos it'll be here before we know it, but I'm looking forward to it this year, fingers crossed nothing happens to mess it up this time.

My mum had a left side mastectomy too, but she recovered really quick, even though she was 86 at the time. She amazed her doctors with how well she coped.

You didn't upset Eddie at all hon, so don't worry about that. I don't know that song so I'll have to go on YouTube to have a listen. Is that where you live then, in London? We live in West Yorkshire, probably about fifty miles away from Eddie and his family. It's a small world my lovely xxx

  • not London now but near Brighton in a really sleepy (yawn) village - but its ok

Love Love Yorkshire - my husband you to go there for work and I had the chance to go with him

At the mo - me doing well with surgery and support from our local Macmillan staff

I sometimes look at myself & feel a freak but - punch my self in the head - "Hey Jann you are not the only one"

Me thinx all of us here are in a very good small world!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me being dumb - your friend from Wales -seems like a brilliant side kick xx

chat soon - thanx for being out there

  • Hey Jann, Debs is indeed a brilliant sidekick and also very funny - I don't think she realises how much she makes me laugh, especially her comments about the giant dogs she's got. Well coincidentally, another very good friend of ours lives in Brighton and the other, who makes our little support group up to a quartet, lives in Portugal, so she gets all the sun! All the people here are fab, so join in with anyone, anytime. I'm so glad you're doing well with your recovery, but never refer to yourself as a freak as that's the last thing you are. You're bubbly, so don't change your personality xxx

  • Gill I didn't know that you needed a passport to get into Liverpool?

Never mind me being a mad axeman...  If it had been a woman answering the door I don't know what would have happened.  Also I don't know where I found the courage!!

  • Eddie, well I did say 'thank god' to myself when I went in

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Morning Steve and trust you, picking up with the passport thingy. You're as sharp as a tack! The city itself was very nice, and the couple of pubs we went in were too; no-one bristled at our Yorkshire accents.

You were courageous my friend and luckily it was a guy who answered the door - a woman wouldn't have taken the chain off if she'd had any sense! Take care hon xxx

  • Gill, I nearly fell off the sofa laughing

luckily it was a guy who answered the door - a woman wouldn't have taken the chain off if she'd had any sense!

It's funny but also very true!

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Aye, it's an indictment of how distrustful most have become Steve, for very obvious reasons. Remember the days when you could leave your doors unlocked? No, I don't either.

Talking of the woman who didn't exist, if she spied you through the window she might have let you in if she had a penchant for Patrick Stewart...

  • "To boldly go where no-one has gone before!"
