Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Poor cat. I don't lnow why people feel the need to set off fireworks before and after 5 November.

  • Absolutely love After Eights, Sonia. I don't delicately nibble the corners like those glam women on the Christmas ads did though. They get rammed into my cakehole, sometimes in pairs.

    Yum Yum xxx

  • There was no boogy, I was sat on butt.

Same venue as last year but ... this time upstairs so very small, one little bench seat that I bagsied. Last year lots of folk n bands good atmosphere, this time don't think they promoted it,  didn't let us in for half hour, then each band took forever to set up so only saw two and left when 3rd started.

£7.50 a can!!!!! Just as well I had my limit of half a cider in the arcade game pub we had to wait in before the gig opened!

Stressy had to go straight back out to local pub as they need the change he saves up for their till Joy

We taxied to town n back as both in pain but he will now be freezing his ahem  eyebrows off on scooter.

    Cheers

  • Just realised I haven't shared a pic of Stressy's parrot, an African Grey

  • Lol! But £7.50 a can? Of what, Moet and Chandon? Lead me to the tap.

Shims, it's that time again  - drum roll...TLC Drum Yay!

Gotta go but will return if you're not done in hon xxx

  • Just couldn't resist coming back in to openly drool at the magnificent parrot! Utterly stunning and something I'd always have loved to keep and care for. Probably outlive me though.

    I love him/her Heart️

More questions for my oncology team, having forgotten a new pill this morning so I took it at 8.15 this evening. That triggered some online searching, and I should be taking it an hour before breakfast. But I have another prescription to be taken then, and the two should not be mixed. So I take it later.

I have a telephone appointment on Wednesday but I don't know why. Nobody has asked me to get bloods done for this or any other event, but I have been given the envelope with required tests marked.

Of course, the helpline over here is closed at weekends and not open until 9 am Monday.

I will just have to wait for the phone call.

  • Go ... do your care stuff. We say 'him' but ... anyway definitely over 20 years old and absolutely fabulous. Yes can live 100 so not to be taken on lightly.

My dad was in Merchant Navy and got an African Grey, also fabulous but sadly it died before it reached a ripe old age.

When I was very young, we lived in a flat with a huge wall mirror over the mantle, which confused our parrot. So for a while it went to live at my dad's parents house.

Loved it as it was a very busy household with lots going on.

Somehow it escaped! Remarkably, in the days before internet and even house phones, it was learned that it had been rescued and my nana went on the bus with a budgie cage to retrieve it!

    Cheers

  • There doesn't seem to be any cohesion to your care at all. Have you ever had a named cancer nurse?

What is the situation with the equivalent of our District Nursing? I ask this as these people can be very knowledgeable about all sorts of stuff and are used to knitting together care.

Where would you normally have bloods done?

Locally we have a hub but I think this is silly as GP is two minute walk away and hospital less than ten minute walk but hub is a bus into town and another out to it!

    Cheers
