Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

My problem is a brain running at max speed in combination with fat fingers.

    Well, that's my excuse!

  • I remember an English teacher having the class in fits when she put a few examples of ambiguous sentences on the board e.g. Flying around the garden I saw three pigeons;  For sale piano by old lady with twisted legs. etc. xxx

We had to reword them or add punctuation to improve them.

  • Evening Sonia. Your post with a cream cakes comment has been sinking in to my brain. I'm now fancying cream meringues - those half shell types which sandwiched fresh cream between. Haven't seen them for years. My mum loved them. xxx

That's right up there with making a cup of tea in your pyjamas. I get quite irritated by certain TV adverts -  such as "... if the dishes are soaking in the back of your mind." Do you not have a sink?

Don't get me started on the current trend of using nouns as adjectives, verbs or adverbs ... or the other way round such as "chew good" and "however you cold ..."

  • Oh dear. You've triggered my juvenile sense of humour. The tears are making it difficult  to see the keys. It was the tea in pyjamas that did it GrinningJoy. xxx

  • Boxty on the griddle,

    Boxty on the pan.

    If you can't make boxty

    You'll never get a man.

Well I don't know if you want one of those Gill, but i looked that and brack up.  Shimmers and Sonia would probably enjoy Wink

Hello everyone, Ray, Sonia, Dingly, Shimmers and Gill, and Uki, what fabulous news about the house! Well done our kid and maybe you can simmer down and relax for a while now.

I'd crack out the champagne Champagne for everyone but I don't drink, so it'll have to be lemonade if you want some fizz.  Cheers  Beers xxx

  • Ray, those meringues with real cream  - Morrisons x 2 in a box. Delicious Yum xxx

  • I'm going to have to visit a Morrisons!  The Tesco version dashed my hopes a week ago. They'd ladled caramel over the cream. Ok if you like caramel. I don't. Also need to visit Sainsburys. My daughter bought the birthday Garibaldi there. One packet has gone down the hatch and the second is half full. Birthday cake is also half depleted. xxx
