Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

It's very quiet on here tonight. I've struggled a bit today after a long day yesterday, now in bed aiming to improve on last night's 5 hours sleep.
I haven't left the house since Friday, but the weather hasn't encouraged me. I might try tomorrow, if only to get milk. I need a brief change of scenery.
Tax return day planned in the morning, as the deadline is looming. Of course, my queries to Revenue have, so far, been ignored. Looks like I'll be doing some intense online searching.
Activity levels vary considerably on here. I think most of the regular posters go through patches of being unable to sleep, then eventually collapse in a heap when energy simply runs out. It applies to me too. Every so often we collapse in phase, resulting in a quiet night except for the occasional new member who says hello, HELLO, is anyone there? I'm sure that in a few months an AI member will leap in to converse with newbies when it senses there's desperation but no response.
I've always been on PAYE but now and then during my career the IR insisted I complete a tax return. I do not envy you having to do that annually and probably in much greater detail if self employed. xxx
I was an accountant for decades but in the UK, not much use in a different country with different (and more complex) tax laws. The accounts side is easy enough, but this time I am claiming something new and guidance is sadly lacking.
Maybe the side effects will be more bearable in the morning and allow my brain to get into gear. Or maybe not.
Sleep would be welcome but new meds mean lucid dreams these days, making me wonder later if it was a dream, or did I really have a conversation with someone about .... ?
Of course, I will fall askeep suddenly, just as the insomniacs appear, and I will miss the conversations.
Ah well. I hope you manage to get some sleep

Sleep well if you are getting close to dropping off. My daughter is visiting tomorrow so I must go to bed earlier than usual tonight and get up earlier, otherwise I'll still be hurriedly washing several days dishes when she arrives. xxx
I think my mention of an 8000 word essay should have read 'a 2000 word essay.' I remember it was approximately 10 pages, single sided, i.e. doable in an evening, not 8000 words which would be about 30-40 pages. We had those now and then but they were a week's assignment (and an absolute bind!). xxx
I’ve left my dishes tonight Ray,When aunt Formidable stays I have to wash up immediately after eating.I enjoyed your student life stories.I still miss living in a student house eating toast and making tea in the early hours and having someone to chat with.Sleep well.Love Jane xx
Toast! That triggered a memory, Jane. We were given free very lightweight sliced loaves and bottles of milk twice a week. Toast, often with nothing on it, followed by cold, sometimes hot, milk was the staple diet late at night after the students' union bar closed . We often played Monopoly with much cheating before getting down to the essay writing. xxx
