Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Ace, I have never slept in hospital and if I take their sleeping pills, all they do it give me a new headache in the morning!
I hope you are not in for long and you will then sleep in your own bed!

Here we go again.....I'm joining the night owls club!
I've experienced bouts of insomnia for years, for no obvious reason. For several days now, I've taken hours to drop off to sleep. Usually, I get up after a couple of hours of frustration, and potter about. I don't normally go on my laptop or phone, but I'm so wide awake I doubt whether it matters!
In some ways, this sleeplessness doesn't matter that much, as I'm retired, and don't have to get up early or rush about in the mornings. It is irritating though!
So if anyone else is awake and fancies a chat....I'll be here for a while!
xxx Kate
Hi Puddock, I find 30 to 60 minutes in front of a screen helps me fall asleep, as does getting up and doing something for 15 minutes, I've just taken Poppy out for a walk, and just need to find a position where I'm not resting on my tumours and I'll get some sleep, you get some as well my friend.
love Eddie and Sheila xx
Hi Kate, Sorry you are joining the Nght Owls but I hope it is a temporary thing. Like Eddie, Imfind a while on my iPad usually doing jigsaws, makes me want to nod off. I hope you both get to sleep soon. I’m off to try now so I hope there are others about to chat!
