Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Don't let my recent experience with the Samaritans put you off contacting them. To start with, this happened here in Ireland not the UK
But also, I have contacted them a number of times this year and this was the first time I have had a poor response; all other times I found it very helpful and the person on the line was totally sympathetic and in some calls they were on the line for nearly an hour, until I had calmed down.
It's worth a try. Don't let my one unsatisfactory experience put you off.
Afternoon Helen
Hope Dad's appointment went well/is going well and you delivered him without traffic hassles
Great news that you had a peaceful night and here's to many more.
To answer your question H, MiL features in the top 5 reasons why I want away and it'll definitely not be within her striking distance. Visitation number 5 is imminent - I'll be clearing off upstairs with phone
For you
and I'll have one for myself
xxx
Afternoon Gill ️
No hon, your one poor Samaritans experience hasn't put me off. I did call them once, over 30 years ago when a family matter had got out of hand, and the guy on the end of the phone was very good and gave me some sound guidance.
Since then I've hardened and my Teflon veneer is almost bulletproof, not to mention my overdeveloped cynicism, so I doubt I'll be calling them any time soon. I get all the support I need here and from a smaller group as venting always does the trick. I enjoy the camaraderie that I wouldn't get by talking to a stranger.
We're all different but that's why we continue to exist. Did you get everything done today that was on your to-do list hon? Here's hoping so xxx
Afternoon Julie
How's you today sweetheart? And has the cold been banished?
Aw thank you for your earlier post hon, but don't put me and incredible in the same sentence - muddling through would be more apt
As for hanging on in I'm just about hanging on by my fingernails today! See post to Helen for reason why. It'll soon be tomorrow.
Take care sweetheart, wishing you only the very best of everything xxx
