Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Yes I am, it is a nightmare. I have had cats before too, but my current dogs see them as prey! So sorry to hear about Beauty, heartbreaking at any time but particularly so at such a young age. Disappointed

I had some photos and videos this evening from the person looking after my dogs, they are looking well and having a great time. So I just need to be patient.

  • That is so nice to get photos and videos of your dogs it must have put your mind at rest. Once you have finished your treatment hopefully you can get them back. I have had an old English sheepdog Tina and a last apsos called Sam many years ago.xxx

  • Should be lhasa apsos.

The dogs are with a good friend (pic of the dogs is on my profile). I can have them back after possible surgery (to be decided on soon) then 5 weeks of radiography, when I have to stay full time at a hospital facility. I don't know what the recovery time is, or indeed what the dates are likely to be. My last chemo is on Wednesday at a different hospital but I might be able to find out more then.

No worries, I had worked that out Wink

  • Good luck with your treatment dd. I have just seen your pic of the dogs they are beautiful. I am having 4 weeks of radiotherapy. The last week starts tomorrow. I just feel very tired all the time. I am 74 so an old bird.

I woke up about 20 mins ago to the irritating sound of OH rifling through the cupboard drawers right opposite my left ear. I did a Stressy and erupted! Rage Not least because being woken like that drives me insane but because I'd expressly told him twice already that the thing he was rooting for was in my bag!

He never listens to, or takes in a word I've said and he's driving me round the bend, what with everything else. So I went nuts and told him I just shan't bother saying anything in future and we can both live in a silent world Earth africa

Sounds reasonable to me but I don't think it's gone down well with him. I despair. Beam me up, Scotty RageSob

  • Good luck with your treatment. Your dogs look very cute.

  • The last week starts tomorrow

    You'll smash it.

I am 70 so not far behind you. Thank you for your kind remarks about my dogs.

I have been told about radiotherapy making you tired, this is why I have to stay in hospital accomodation (it's actually a former nurses home). It must be a relief to be going into your last week, do you have any further treatment planned after that?
