Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Awww thanks Gilly, Mr Moth has buggered off, and nobody knows where to find him, maybe he knows PMs are back up, sadly for nursie she has to wake me up to check for bleeding as I sleep on my back; there is a TV but it's not working, and don't feel sorry for me, I'm in the best place possible should anything happen, or Mr Moth returns and I fully expect to be home tomorrow.........probably. XX
Oh crikey Eddie. Well I sincerely hope nothing does happen and you're well enough to be discharged asap. In the meantime, try and get plenty of rest between nursie's checks and sip fluids for hydration - Matron's back in the room! Hope you feel more like yourself soon, and sending you and mothy big hugs - just don't crush him xxx
Hi Gill, Well lo-&-behold the PMs are working again, so I’ve answered Sarah’s PM I received over a month ago but up until now haven’t been able to reply to!
We haven’t had a chance to contact companies about Travel Insurance yet, as there has been a lot going on! The renewal arrived last week and without them knowing about the other issues with my husbands arteries and the fact he is waiting for an angiogram, the renewal price has gone up by £80 so heaven knows what the new figure will be after we disclose the latest problems!
So how are you and your guy doing? Any improvement? Oh I do hope so! I am off to do some jigsaws now then I will try to sleep for a bit. I hope you are already asleep! Take care
Love Annette x
Oh Eddie, Not another Friday night via A&E!! As you say of course, you are in the best place and being looked after! I was just about to do some jigsaws when I saw your post. I take it Mandy & Lesley know where you are tonight!!
I do hope they manage to sort you out in time for getting home in the morning when the doctors do their rounds! Please keep me posted!
Love Annette x
Morning Annette. Nope, still awake as I was having a chat with Eddie for a while. The poor lad's in dock so I'm hoping he'll be out soon and feeling better.
I think 'they' heard you was on the verge of leaving and quickly got their act together. Good!
We're ok lass, and OH is enjoying a whole raft of sport now we've got Sky. His appetite has returned and he looks miles better, so much so that he's gained a fan club where we go for his remedial treatment. I like to tease him about it!
Well I hope the insurance quote won't be an absolute shocker as you deserve your breaks, what with all the health issues. And now I'll let you get back to the jigsaws. You've become renowned for your penchant for them! Big hugs xxx
Thanks matron, it's my CRP, the bad days are getting fewer, but worse, and there concerned about fistula's, thankfully the sigmoidoscopy showed nothing bar telangiectasia, so I was given a course of argon plasma coagulation I'm to go back on the sucralfate enemas if there's no improvement, I'm only allowed warm drinks till breakfast when I can have a yoghurt, happy days.
love Eddie and Sheila xx
Hi Eddie. Well I only understood half of that, but some bits sounded good...I think? Just as long as they can get you as good as they can do, and you're not in any pain. Fingers crossed you'll be able to go home soon, and can eat something more substantial than a yoghurt. You'll just have to do as you're told I suppose. Take good care and hugs xxx
Hi Annette, this was my choice to go to hospital, my nurse consultant agreed and asked the resident oncologist to find me a bed in hospital, I was hoping for Obs, but CC will do. Mandy knows my friend, and Sheila knows enough, I'll be home long before she is. so you get back to your jigsaw my friend, I'll be fine, and let you know what if anything is happening in the morning xx
Well done understanding half of it my friend, I just copied my notes basically I have chronic radiation proctitis caused by radiotherapy, which has damaged blood vessels in my rectum, I've been bleeding interrnally for 2 1/2 years my sucralfate enemas are helping but slowly, the argon plasma coagulation APC is used to destroy those damaged blood vessels to speed up healing times, though a very safe procedure, I wanted it done and out of the way before my holidays; here endeth the lesson; Eddie xx
A very informative lesson, as I'm a knowledge freak and like to know things. But I will say poor you, as I hate it when folk are poorly - in a perfect world everyone would be well, but we're all very aware that can't happen. You sound fairly confident you'll get back home soon and I hope you're right. I'll be looking on here in a few hours to see how you're doing, and hopefully you'll be posting from home.
I suppose I'd better get my head down, as watching this bloke on YouTube, going all round Yorkshire, was keeping me more awake than usual. So night God bless Eddie, and get better soon. Love to you my friend xxx
