Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Still here ... we deserve a Medal for perseverance!

  • The hamsters are knocking up the podium as we type xxx

  • Ooh so did agent ask any questions such as do you have to give notice at current abode, can you fund deposit and rent in advance? Owt to show she taking you seriously?

    Cheers

  • She didn't ask anything and I assume she's leaving that up to call back guy or gal.

I need to see the flat first and if we love it it'll be all systems go as I've budgeted for everything. It's gonna take about 2 weeks to clear our house - solo effort with appointments in between, but I can do it. I'll take care of the sale of ours and if we can have the flat I'll pay a holding fee to give me the extra time. My homework revealed 15 days is the norm for a hold.

On the other hand we might hate it as photos are deceiving, then the hunt will go in a different direction. There's no massive rush - it's just me wanting things done yesterday. Not a good trait xxx

  • Grrr reply hidden again sooo

I have not come across this holding fee before. Is it a returnable sum or just means no commitment to proceed with tenancy? Otherwise it's just rent ain't it?

I would have nosed around the outside of it Joy

    Cheers

  • I'm guessing it's none returnable but it's not a big wad if that's the case but I will ask.

I'll ask tons of questions if it gets that far Shims xxx

  • You know me, I like to know stuff so I have had a look. Hmm usually agent asking for fee so they can check you out. It's capped at 1weeks rent, hold 15 days unless agreed different in writing, they can keep it if you don't procede but not if you've been honest but fail credit check.

It's usually credited to your account. I suppose it means you get 8 days free but it's 15 days you won't have access to property.

Anyway you are getting a sofa bed ... this be your one sofa then?

    Cheers

  • Just checked. If everything's ok it comes off deposit or first month's rent xxx

  • Did this agent have any others you might be interested in?

    Cheers

  • I've had a few alerts from them today but I'd already seen the ones that came up. I'd only consider one.

Ours is a small town and not many flats of the type we want come up so that's why I need to strike if we like it. I'm not concerned about them running checks as I'm as clean as a whistle and any dues will come from my account. OH is rubbish at managing money but I dug him out of his pit almost 20 years ago. They'll find nothing xxx
