Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Sheesh already a post appearing twice!

Well me n Stressy got Scooterless to his dietician appointment today. Dietician a lean, fit young woman but lovely. Very sensible do-able advice, weight and BMI measurements and next appointment 6 weeks time.

    Cheers

  • Does Scoots need to lose a lot of weight Shims? xxx

  • Awe good grief! You could do without the aggro but I suppose it's using up a few calories from the midnight feasting

Has she actually been round in person?

    Cheers

  • She's barred on my ultra strict, no arguing about it orders.

Her latest ploy is to ring OH, 13 times and counting over the course of 3 days, fully aware he can't answer the bloody thing. If she thinks I'll pick it up she can think again! xxx

  • Having worked err I was going to say in food but that may conjour images of leaping out of cakes so having worked with food for years I must say 'food is unsafe before it looks, smells or tastes bad'.

Dodgy innards for some may be lethal for others and some bugs are just plain HORRENDOUS with lasting effects.

End of lecture, print outs available by the door.

    Cheers

  • What the bejeezus does she expect to happen when it rings? Does she see it as an opportunity to talk at him uninterrupted?

    Cheers

  • Agreed. Meats which have been visited by a Mr E Coli are often lethal and fungi can infiltrate bread, making you ill long before it goes green. xxx

  • No, what she's after is OH thinking she's become gravely ill and to rush round there, pronto!

This worked in the days before he became gravely ill but I've put a stop to her crying wolf, a favourite pastime, as he can't rush anywhere anymore. The selfish old bag only thinks of herself and what she wants!

    I'm getting worked up again...

  • Ray. Stop! You're getting me worried now hon, as I'm very unfussy about what I eat. I don't want paranoia setting in. Oh crikey...

  • Scoots certainly does. He had a heart attack few years back and I think became fearful of exertion. Prior to that, and when Stressy was more able, they would go off walking with walking poles and work up a sweat.

He had changed a lot err I know we all have, but he used to dress smartly to go out etc whereas now lives in joggers... mostly kuz that is all that fits. He isn't very tall so does look round.

Struggled to step up and through his front door which is extra an extra high step, fluid retention in legs etc.

    Cheers
