Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

As long as you're ok hon. Aye, I've been doing the same, getting ready for winter and washing all the big stuff while it's still ok to peg it out.
Shimmer might be sorting Scooterless out with everything she's arranged for him at a guess. I hope she's ok too hon xxx
Evening Gill. Have you found the site's software to be behaving even more strangely than usual tonight? I have had to prove I'm not a robot at least 10 times. I tick the box which says I won't be asked again, then if I want to post or react it goes through the same motions again or just freezes. Perhaps Shimmers has had similar problems and patience has been exhausted. I'm almost thinking that recent changes (whatever they were??) should be undone until the effects of tweaks have been fully tested off-line.
Add the above to even the BBC saying we should start hoarding tinned food, and the world begins to look as though it's going nuts. What about toilet rolls!! Ray xxx
Morning Ray
Yeh, maybe it's put Shimmer off posting but I hope it is that and she's not unwell?
I've not been on much today but haven't been accused of being a robot yet, just been logged out mid post.
Lol at stocking up - I don't hoard essentials but always have lots in stock, especially loo rolls. It's nothing to do with panic buying as I've done it for years and my dad was the same. When both my parents had passed on we cleared out the pantry and there was an unopened package of 6 jars of cocoa - circa 1971. I used it and although a bit gritty it didn't see me off!
I hope Shimmer sees our posts and sends a up xxx
I've got some pearl barley, a bag of out of date porridge oats, some flour from the early 2000s, a can of oxtail soup and one of tinned tomatoes. Hardly enough to sustain a stomach upset for a week!
I hope Shimmers has not heard anything worrying from the screening but can't remember whether it was imminent or still in the future. xxx
Shimmer's screening is down for the 22nd so possibly nowt to do with her absence. I'm a bit concerned as she's a live wire night owl
Crikey Ray, there's a family sized tin of Wesslers hot dogs and another of their burgers in our pantry, bought well over 10 years ago as we used dad's Makro card and he's been gone for 12 years. I keep wondering if they'll still be edible but not risked it yet as they might be too much for my normally cast iron constitution.
I had to edit the last post, otherwise you might have thought looking rolls was a thing. Flipping spell check! xxx
Right, that's good, so Shimmers may simply be busy.
I rarely use spell check, not because I am arrogant or a spectacularly good speller, it's just irritating as an adult to have words underlined in red. Why don't they go the full hog and write SEE ME like I used to see on my marked homework? If I can't remember how to spell a word, I google it. Dire rear always gets me. xxx
Not bragging but I'm usually good with spelling. Using a phone doesn't give the squiggly underlines but decides it knows better than the person and alters words to its liking, post post! Hence the loo rolls earlier.
As I worked in a school in another lifetime, I took many calls from parents lying that their kids were ill, usually because little Tarquin didn't get on too well with Miss or Sir.
The usual line was sickness and diarrhea but there's an alternative with an O. That's what always confused me xxx
Hello I am alive. Tech trouble but think I am back so will try catch up
Cheers
I used to work at a place called Westcott. Spell checkers always changed it to Waistcoat. I assume more recent spellcheckers have become smarter. I've often seen the 'o' option for that word. In my diary it is always dire rear. More descriptive and no need to google. xxx
