Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hello Gill (

10.30 here blue sky and 28c - been essential shopping, milk, water toilet rolls etc this morning. Lazy day today - Lorraine's reading on the balcony and I am off to walk down to Panda Bar about 1.30 to meet some mates who live here and put the world to rights for a few hours with the odd cold EFES thrown in.

Saturday is our locals market (away from the tourist area) so it's shopping for fruit and veg and possibly a pair of genuine (fake) Nike trainers for £15/£18.

Yes, I look back to the "good old days" - Oldham market being busy and walking over a mile home on a Saturday with a weeks shopping, it was a "dirty old town" but we had some great times 50/60 years ago. No railway history in my family but dad was an engineer and I loved taking things to bits and seeing how they worked, hence my interest in the engineering side of railways - I started off fixing them but no one wanted to "play trains" (with the public) and that's where the money is, hence my start in firing and driving.

Have a great weekend - take care - Brian & Lorraine xxx

  • Morning all

We're having a lazy day today but we will walk into town later for a coffee and maybe some lunch. We also need some sellotape to fix one of our trusty maps.

The sun's shining but it's not going to be very hot.

Love the talk of the old toys. We still have Sarah's Polly Pockets and the grandkids have all the Duplo and Lego that we'd kept.

  • Hello.
Amazing news with your scan results. I am so pleased for you. xx

  • Evening Amanda Blush

Poor little Archie Pensive as if he hasn't already had enough with teething and now this. You did the right thing getting him checked out and thank goodness he's ok. Extra bedtime cuddles will soothe him.

About the posts playing hide and seek, yes, I've had to faff about too and found others that weren't previously there. Maybe admin will get on to recent issues and get them sorted out. Fingers crossed

It sounds like you're in for a nice evening hon, so get Archie settled, arm yourselves with treats and settle down for the soaps.  Lots of love and a cuddle for Archie xxx

  • Hello everyone. Hope you are all well?
Thank You all for the lovely messages. It’s bringing me a lot of comfort at this time. xx

  • Evening Gill. Can I ask if you have put your heating on? I am cold so I have put mine on. Autumn is on its way. I have just tripped up over my laptop cable nearly sent my coffee flying. Luckily my laptop is still working. Hope you and OH are okay.xxx

  • Evening Sonia Sunflower

No hon, we've not got the heating on yet but I don't blame you for putting it on if you're feeling the cold.

It takes a lot for me to feel it and CH makes my eyes and throat itchy and dry, also it's not really that good for OH as it dries the air out and makes him cough. We're a right pair! I do have solutions when it gets cold though, and they've worked well with previous winters.

Hey, never mind the laptop, are you ok sweetie? We can't have our favourite Salford lass going flying! Hugs chicken xxx

  • I was shaken up Gill. I nearly fell on the floor. Should look where I am going. I have washed and dried all my towels been on my mind for a while. I find it hard to get motivated. Have you heard from shimmer? She hasn't posted today. Hope she is okay.xxx

It's good that you're feeling a little better hon. If it's not already happened, once your dad's funeral is done I'm sure you'll feel much more peaceful. It helped me when my mam and dad passed and I made sure their funerals celebrated their lives with lots of favourite music and reminiscing. And plenty of glasses were raised to them!

Sending love and warm hugs sweetheart xxx
