Hi Again

A shot in the dark question, but I am having trouble getting Travel Insurance.

Can anybody suggest a company that would give a quote. A lot of the companies on the compare websites will not even quote me.

Has anybody experienced this?

  • Hi again

Unfortunately, as you've found, it can be more difficult to get travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis.

Within the online community we have a travel insurance forum which I'd recommend that you join. Once you've joined take a look at the two threads on the first page entitled 'recommended travel insurance' and 'recommended travel insurance 2023-24'. You'll find lots of recommendations there from others who have successfully obtained travel insurance.

  • My husband has a diagnosis of Mesothelioma & we got insurance with Insure With.

  • Hi Wardyboy,

Thank you I will try them.

  • I've just tried Insure With but they wouldn't cover me for four weeks in Europe. I'm assuming it was to do with the fact that my RT only ended a week ago and I'm travelling on the 4th Sept.
Nationwide FlexPlus - Aviva have quoted me £220 for the year for trips of no more than 31 days. That includes my recent PC RT and my wife's Type 2 diabetes.

If I find a better quote I will report back.

  • Thank you Rod, I will give Aviva a try.

  • Be aware that offer probably goes hand in hand with the Nationwide FlexPlus Debit card. Direct to Aviva may be different.

  • Ah, Ok. Thanks for the heads-up. I have a pension with Aviva, so they may give me a quote.
