Cancer can impact life in so many ways. It can alter relationships, how we feel in our own bodies, and so much more. It can touch every part of our lives, and the lives of the people we love.
We know that for many, sex and intimacy following a cancer diagnosis is a huge concern.
This is a space for people to connect with others who may have experienced similar issues or concerns, and for people to get and give support to one another.
Just remember that people of any background, gender identity, or sexual orientation can be diagnosed with cancer. Please be welcoming and supportive when talking to others.

Hello. I am a 51 yr old male, 18 months post TPE after recurrence of colorectal cancer. Surgery involved bisection of my sciatic nerve in the right leg and my pudendal nerve. To get to the point, I'd give my right leg for an erection. All joking aside, I was wondering if those of you who’ve had TPE have been able to orgasm since. I have read that it is possible for men to orgasm without an erection. I’m sorry that this is a rather penis oriented question. To be honest, I’d just like to know if there’s any hope of getting any feeling back. I am also aware that for some women TPE involves removal of the vagina and clitoris, so I don’t mean to sound insensitive. Thank you. T
Hi Tomus, not had a TPE as I have advanced prostate cancer, though guys on the forum who have had a prostatectomy do incur pudendal nerve damage but are able to recover enough to be able to return to an active sex life even if it's different than before, and you can have an orgasm without an erection and it's possible to treat the pudendal nerve too, there is a website with good information but is not UK based so is against the guidelines to post it, though I think I can send it by friends, best wishes.

Hi Tomus,
I've not had TPE, I had penis cancer. For a while the surgeon thought I was going to have my whole penis removed (thankfully I have been left with 50%)
I spoke to a man who had not been so lucky and he assured me that he, after therapy to help overcome the anxiety, stress and anger associated with many cancers, was still able to orgasm, as it as much a psychological experience as physical.
Wishing all the best for the future..
