  • Hi  and I see it’s your first post on the Community.

Lets see if anyone with first hand experience will pick up on your post…..

The community has dedicated cancer type support groups so you may want to join and put up a post in our dedicated Head and neck cancer support group as this group is a safe place to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from family members who are navigating the same support journey.

…… then once the group page opens click in the [Black - Click to Join - Banner] that appears at the bottom of the page and this will then confirm that you have joined the group.

When you are ready……. you can introduce yourself by putting up your very own post by clicking [+ Create new post] or [+] in the top right of the group page.

You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.

As for the practical and emotional challenges of supporting your husband and indeed yourself you may benefit from joining and posting in our……

  • Hi. I'm in the US so my terminology may be a bit different, but the situation is the same. I had squamous cell carcinoma on my tonsil which had spread to 9 areas of my tongue, mouth and throat. I alVso had 30 radiation therapy treatments and 3 chemo treatments. Unfortunately bringing up the mucous is a side effect that will eventually go away. It might be disgusting but spit.it.out. Also, I had the guidance of a Registered Dietitian during and after treatment and she suggested drinking Ginger ale - it helped. I hope this suggestion will help and peace to your family V
