Hi, newly diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

On Ribo and hormone therapy

is anyone else on this treatment?
how are getting on?

Having only v few side effects currently with tiredness and night sweats and hot flushes.

Scared about the future. Should I make plans or not!

  • Hi

So sorry to hear that.....I was just diagnosed earlier this month so I understand how absolutely  frightened and scared you feel.

Did you already have surgery lumpectomy etc?

Sending lots of love and best wishes

  • No surgery …yet. They just want to try and shrink the tumour  with drugs first then rescan and check.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis aswell!

I have this horrible diagnosis but I rarely feel sick it’s such a strange feeling

  • Hi

I am sorry to hear if your diagnosis.

I was diagnosed in January 2024 with Invasive Lobular breast cancer with secondaries to bones.

I have been taking Ribociclib, Letrozole, Adcal tablets, Zoladex & denosumab injections for the past year.

I have found that eating breakfast before taking the medication helps with the nausea. I still have the dull aches & pains, tiredness but have coped well on 600mg a day of the Ribociclib.

  • Hi. Just curious, are you not all on chemotherapy?

  • Thanks for the tip, I’m only a 3 weeks in so early days. Starting to get a few headaches and feel a little nausea. But haven’t lost appetite or anything else.

  • Hi, no they haven’t suggested chemo as yet. But maybe radiotherapy down the line.
they said combo of ribo, letrozele and leuprorelin is the best for right now.

  • I also carry gingernut biscuits with me and drink lemon & ginger tea to help with the nausea

  • Thanks for the tip. Luckily I love both those things :)
