Hi all

My names Laura , I'm 43 and a mum of 3. In August I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. On October 1st I had a masectomy with breast reconstruction and lymph node biopsy. I had my drain and the suction machine (can't remember the name of it ) removed last week, my skin hadn't been getting the best blood circulation so my nipple and some of the breast skin had gone almost black. I was worried I was going to lose my nipple. I went for my biopsy results this week and everything was starting to look good, lymph nodes are clear and the cancer was non invasive but unfortunately the lower half of my breast tissue that had been removed had lots of cancer in it and I have now got to have my reconstruction removed and half the skin from my breast.....it's not looking good for any further reconstruction further down the line. I keep telling myself I'm alive!!! Has anyone else been through anything similar?

  • Hi

I haven't been through similar but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.

You might also like to join and post in the main breast cancer group as your post will then be seen by more people.

If you'd like to join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you do don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
