Hi all,

I'm Gee and last week i had a bilateral mastectomy owing to a cancer which was present a year after a lumpectomy. I am 43, have an 18 month old baby and sadly a family history of cancer, Mum passed 8 years ago.

I am just coming on here to meet others who have experienced similar.

Gee xx

  • Hello Gee43

Welcome to the Online Community and the breast cancer group.

I hope that you do not mind me replying as my cancer was endometrial but by doing so it will bump your post and hopefully it will be seen by someone who is going through a similar experience.

I am sorry to hear of your breast cancer and bilateral mastectomy. It must have been hard to hear that it was present after your previous lumpectomy. I hope that you are recovering well from the surgery and have plenty of support with your 18month old. Young children can take a lot of looking after at the best of times.

I am sorry to hear of your Mum and family history of cancer.

I hope that you are getting plenty of support but if at any point talking things through would help, then please do give the Support Line a call. The details are below.

In the meantime, I wish you well with your recovery and if there is anything else you need, please do let us know.

    Jane
