Wave hi, I’m 46 and have a 12 year old daughter. I had a single remonstration mastectomy in September and had my first chemo session today. I have been asked by some what have I been given - but without looking at my paperwork I don’t know because I didn’t want to! The names of the drugs mean nothing to me and I certainly don’t read up on things as I don’t know what’s relevant to me. I just know I’m having four lots of something that starts with E for the first 4 and then 4 of pedi something… am I odd to think this way? I just think they know what they’re doing, they know what’s best and they know what it’s called - that enough isn’t it?
Also, the veins in my hands have gone very puffy? Normal? I have a PICC in my upper arm x

love and good wishes to you all x

  • Hi JelloH

Welcome to the forum and I’m sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I don’t thing you are odd to think like that at all. You do whatever you need to do to get through this. I would mention the puffy veins to your medical team if I were you. While I don’t pretend to be an expert it’s better to error on the side of caution.

Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.

    Best wishes
