22 weeks post chemo for stage 2 breast cancer. Recently went for lymph node removal of 4 lymph nodes. Previous to removal Ultrasound scan showed no signs of cancer. Pray tone1 Following removal… surgeon said won removal 2 nodes appear thickened!!! Work in the medical field and kind of know what that means!!! Chemo was fine the first 6 rounds… the last two have been so debilitating and I had no idea how tough it is.  Got big double mastectomy and reconstruction op in the next 3 weeks. Which I am so looking forward too. To get this cancer gone. But the thought of going through chemo again terrifies me!!!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

That's great news that your ultrasound showed no signs of cancer but it's natural to be worried about the implication of "thickened" lymph nodes and more chemotherapy. I had a micro deposit of cancer cells in one lymph node after my lumpectomy and SLNB and had to have chemo as adjuvant treatment.

When you feel ready, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

All the best for your upcoming surgery and, hopefully, you won't need further chemo.

    ((hugs))
