I was diagnosed on 28th May with IDC grade 1 Er and Pr positive. I had a lumpectomy on 21st July clear margins and lymph nodes but an onco dx score of 29 so chemotherapy looking likely however my final histology shows the tumours are secretory carcinoma which is really rare. No one has mentioned to me as yet about this - should it be the oncologist that explains more about it. I believe it makes an oncology decision more complicated as chemo might not be as effective on this type? Would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation.

I hadn’t heard of this so I looked it up. I don’t know whether google’s AI summaries are reliable, but it sounds like it’s a slow growing cancer. If that’s correct, it’s a good thing. The main line of attack on hormone driven cancers is through hormone therapy plus there may also be drugs that target the specific mutations of this sort of cancer. Hopefully your oncologist will have come across it before and will have a plan.
