Hi lovely this is what I also found really difficult I cleaned the house from top to bottom on day 1 & 2 then felt really down…I lasted 3 days max with me..get outside for air try & do a small walk it really helped me…you ll get through this I promise xx
Wow - I would no way have been capable of cleaning, even on steroids. That is impressive! I think I’m actually going to have to get a cleaner for the week after each round. I do one task, like peg out some washing or the school run and it floors me for three hours.
definitely trying to get some fresh air every day. Mentally struggling with reoccurrence fear is the worst and I’m not even through treatment. Just more the fear that I’m putting myself and kids through all this for nothing. But, has to be done.
it is always reassuring to see people two/three years down the line and I’ve spoken to a few women on cancer research chat who are ten years clear after grade 3 in many lymph nodes as I hijacked a thread where people were discussing coming off tamoxifen after ten years to ask if they’d started out with this diagnoses. So, we can get there!!
xx
Yes The steroids made me high as a kiite then flat as hell….yes the worry of reoccurrence is still constant with me but you’re right there’s lots of ladies still around years later..you need to take all the treatment they throw at you & it will go fast x
This is so reassuring. Just had a double mastectomy and they found cancer cells on my lymph nodes during the op. I have not slept much since last Wednesday as I am really worried about my future and my little babies without me. Where can I find these ladies who shared their stories on their cancer in the lymph nodes grade 3? Thank you so much and so pleased I read your message. Xx
Hi Stephanie, I hope you’re resting and healing following your surgery. Just to reassure you, they found cancer in my lymph nodes too, I had all of them removed and am almost 2 years clear ️
I found this site and the contributions so valuable, please let me know if you need anything else.
sending you love & strength xx
Hi Stephanie
the others I found were on cancer research chat. They were on a thread called ‘effects of coming off tamoxifen after ten years’ and I have the same username on there so you should be able to search it to see the replies; there were a few. I am the same - I still feel very scared of leaving my children, but every positive story helps a little. Xx
Hi all,
I’m now 2 years clear of cancer. Super happy and I hope it stays that way! Also now that some my friends are also going through the menopause naturally, I can say that the Tamoxifen side effects are not that bad after all. I still have Zometa (bone strengthening) infusions every 6 months and an injection to suppress my ovaries every 3 months. It’s so important to stay positive and remember that all healing is self healing ️
HI Tallula
Can I ask how long they’re planning to suppress your ovaries? I know I am to have Zoladex also but they haven’t advised how long this will be for…I know it can be for 2-5 years and am curious as to how long most oncologists are recommending at the moment.
thanks xx
