Zoladex and Exemestan side effects

I've been on these for three months and haven't had any hair loss. It was a bit of a last minute decision when my surgery was covid-cancelled, but didn't want tamoxifen as it is causes clots. My sister has been on them for 3+ years and her hair is amazing now.

have you been given the option to have your ovaries removed. I was told that’s an option once you’ve been on this for a while

Hi..yeah this is an option eventually but I haven't discussed that with my oncologist yet. 

She says we will discuss options in the future depending on life really..like if I wanted more children xxx

Can I ask if the injection is sore and uncomfortable as I see it's a pellet which I can imagine isn't just a simple injection going into your stomach

It's not the best but you do get used to it.

They will numb it for you beforehand if you want, I used to have before but as I want to be just in and out due to the COVID19 at the moment I just have the injection.

Think after all the chemo injections I had and this for nearly two years my stomach is used to it!

I decided to go with it. Got my first injection this morning so I'll see how I go. On the leaflet for common side effects is hair loss (1 in 10 people) so I'll just need to wait and see. I've been given the option by my consultant today of maybe removing my ovaries in 6 months but first need to wait and see how I get on with the injection. It's all a waiting game to see if I get side effects

Have you had mastectomy before Zoladex treatment? If not did your surgeon said don’t use the stomach for any injections? I am really lost , I had done mastectomy in March 2020  as they rushed me through it cause of covid 19 without giving me another choice, they could have suggested to go private for the surgery but they did not do it. Now another milestone Zoladex and I have phobia really scared of needles, can’t see myself go through with these injections. 

Is there anything else available instead of Zoladex treatment? Have been given another options ? If yes what are they ?

please help me cause I am lost ,

Hi.

I had a lumpectomy in march 2018. I didnt have the zoladex injections until I bsd finished all my treatment.

I did have the choice of having them or not and decided to.. some girls just have tablets.

Have you discussed your phobia with your oncologist?
