When constructing new nipple, is the round post DIEP ‘island’ scar incorporated into the nipple and areola area or will there still be the island scar around the areola

I am one of the community champions on the various breast cancer forums. I haven’t had a reconstruction myself but wanted to signpost you to our Breast cancer forum . It’s a much busier forum than this and many people who aren’t BRCA positive will have had a DIEP flap. Hopefully if you post there, someone with experience will come along and answer it.
