My wife Nikki who was diagnosed with secondaries about 4 years ago recently finished chemotherapy on Abraxane. It was only last year it was confirmed she actually had the brca2 gene and now that chemo has finished she is being put on talazoparib.
Has anyone been on or know of anyone who has been on this treatment before and their experience?
Hello Bazza7676
I am Brian one of the Community Champions here on the online Community. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer however by me replying your post will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope seen and answered by other members of the group.
Here's a link to our information on Talazoparib:
I am on the Prostate Community myself and did come across a Community member who has been prescribed this medication this week - I am sure it's very new and only just been accepted by NICE so it's unlikely you will get many people with experience of it's use. i did use our search facility and only came across your posts.
I wish you well moving forward.
Best wishes - Brian.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I'm curious how everyone is doing with Talazoparib now. How have side effects been for you over time? Would love to hear any updated experiences or tips since I've been considering it myself. It’s always helpful to hear firsthand how things are going with others in similar situations.
Hi bewijuwu,
My wife Nikki started her talazoparib treatment a few months ago.
Unfortunately before we were due to fly home from Las Vegas, she couldn't stop vomiting. Being sick throughout our flight back.
As soon as we got home, we went to the hospital. Nikki was in hospital for 4 nights.
Her haemoglobin levels were very low, potentially from the talazoparib.
Nikki's scan is due this week, and I guess we'll see what's going on with the cancer. She isn't taking the tablets for now. So we'll see.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
