Hi all,
After my mum was diagnosed, and is currently in remission for (!!!), pancreatic cancer, my sister and I discovered we both carry the BRCA2 gene mutation. The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions, as I know everyone in this group knows all too well…
I’ve been so grateful for all of the info I’ve come across in this forum, whether it be BRCAChats on Insta or people’s preferences when it comes to surgery/scanning.
I’m keen to ensure that my family and I are protected in case I am diagnosed with cancer and my previous employers always had Critical Illness cover as standard but unfortunately my current employer doesn’t offer it… so I’m curious to find out what others have done and if there is any advice as to where to go.
I know we don’t have to declare our BRCA2 history with insurers but if there’s a particular place to start it be so grateful for any info you can share! x

Contact with the Macmillan Line and speak to one of the Advisors there. 08088080000.
