Hi all,

I'm new here. While waiting for results I was so nervous & now that I've got them this week 10wks into chemotherapy I'm so scared. I'm BRCA1 so instead of a lumpectomy I've to have a double mastectomy.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I don't know if you've got your results since posting this message but I do understand how nerve wracking getting results is. I'm sure that whatever the outcome you'll feel better knowing one way or another.

I'm not a member of this forum but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    ((hugs))

  • Hi Latchbrook, nice to meet you & thank you very much for the advice

  • Hi Hermi,

I got my BRCA1 positive result a couple of weeks ago; totally unexpected and a lot to take in so I feel for you. The idea of so much surgery is scary, although I have more chemo to get through first so I'm trying not to think about it too much at the moment! Hope you're OK x

  • Yes it is scary & I'm the same. I have 4 more chemo sessions left so I'm trying not to think about it till I have to.either. Big hugs
