I hope this is OK to post as it isn't about me. A very close friend disclosed to me today that she may have inherited BRCA genes from her father. I am not sure of all of the ins and outs as I wanted to let her share her story in her own time. I have promised to go to the hospital with her for her appointments as she hasn't even managed to bring herself to disclose to her husband and children yet (it's very new news) and I wondered, if anyone has any tips on how I can best support her? She is worried she might not take in all of the medical appointment details so I've offered to take notes, but are there any questions I should make a note of to ask, or other advice anyone has? I am reading as much as I can about it and will let her talk and open up at her own pace, but I want to make sure I am the best possible support to help her through this. Thank you for reading.
