Hi all,
I had my risk reducing bilateral mastectomy 2 years ago now and over the past 10 months I've been experiencing increasing aches and pains with my left implant. Some days the pain is crippling and leaves me sobbing. I've now got to the point that I'm taking painkillers daily and I can't stretch my left arm out like I used to.
I also noticed tonight that my left breast has changed shape and tightened. My nipples are now not in line and I can see pronounced edges on the left.
In the past one dr has mentioned capsular constriction but then my surgeon has dismissed it.
I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what happened? Have you had another surgery to correct it? Or have you managed to just get on with it?
Any comments woulf be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance xxx
Hi
I'm sorry to hear how much pain you're in and, although I don't have any experience with capsular constriction, I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses.
It might be an idea to join and post this question in the breast cancer group, as I'm sure there'll be lots of ladies over there who have had an implant and someone might have had the same problem as you are experiencing.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens.
I hope you get this sorted soon
