My mom had two mastectomies
Her sister's eldest daughter (my cousin ... keep up) had a lumpectomy
My middle cousin tested positive for a BRCA mutation (unsure right now if it was BRCA-1 or BRCA-2), as did my sister
My late uncle definitely did not have either BRCA mutation, so it's carried in my mom's line
I was going to get tested myself but that's been sort of pre-empted now by a diagnosis that I have anal cancer
I don't know if my odds of THIS cancer were increased by a BRCA mutation, but I'm going to try to find out!
