My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

    Dear everyone,

Thank you all so much for your love and concern today.

i visited the cemetery this morning on the way to church, and then Alice and ~I went to Sarah and jason's for lunch. (number one offspring and partner, with two little girls aged 9 and 6.) They cooked a fab 3-course meal - all homemade, including a glorious parsnip soup. most impressed! We've not long got home, fed the beasts and am trying to gird up my loins to tackle the ironing - oh joy!

yvonne, I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to see you posting here; PLEASE move in with us on this thread if you feel that you would like to. we all support each other in every possible way, and even have a laugh along the way, which is something we thought impossible a little while ago.

helen, hun, how did today go? I've been thinking of you, and said a quickie for you at church this morning. I hope that you'll find comfort in having a special place where you can visit Paul.  are you having a bench? After all, we are Benches'R us; Lynne and Ailsa are full of helpful ideas!!! However, if Lynne mentions balloons, just nod politely and move away......................(love you really, L!)

Thanks again, all you lovely people.

    sue xx

Yvonne - lovely to see you here.............as Sue says there's a lot of support here and my silliness usually leads to everyone smiling.xx

Ailsa - how was the wedding?  I hope you had a good time - and not too much rain??  xx

Oh! sorry - my brain has now shut down - can't remember who else is doing what!!!!!  So now I will bow out disgracefully (as usual) and leave love and many ((((((((bug higs)))))))))) for you all  Dot xxxxxxxxxxx

    Evening everyone

Glad your day was ok Sue xxx Love all the photos and flowers xxx

Lynne, it stopped raining for us, must have been thanks to you xxx 12 0 clock it stopped! It all went well, Liam did us proud and carried Paul`s casket and buried it. His mum and I both placed a red rose with him before sprinkling the earth. Lovely words and prayers and plenty of tears but feel we have completed now xxx

We then went for a carvery, then went back to Paul`s special place by which time his stone had been laid and we arranged our flowers. Will put photo s on facebook tomorrow xxx Been to our local for a couple, kids came too which was nice.

Lynne hope you have a great holiday. Ailsa are you home yet?

    Speak tomorrow

    Helen xxx
