My husband died three months ago, and every day feels so endless that it feels as if he has been gone for so long. I am managing to do some work and have four big writing deadlines to catch up with but my energy crashes even if I only do a bit and then I feel so overwhelmed and lost. The worst is that I feel that I don’t belong here/in my life anymore and that I have to start over but don’t have the energy and no interesr in anyrhing apart from our two teenage kids. Anyone else experienced the same? Would love to hear how you get/got through without despairing.
You are very early on in your grief . I think I was just beginning to come out of the shock at 3 months after my loss. Lack of Energy is a big part of it. Difficulty sleeping and even if we do ,we don't wake up feeling refreshed. I had to get sleeping tablets from.the Doctor, then they give us Anti- depressants which do help us sleep, but certainly don't seem to help with the overwhelming low mood . Lack of energy or lack of interest in anything. I moved house 3 months after losing my Hubby. And this House and the gardens have needed a lot of work. So that's what I'm focusing on. I have little interest on doing the work, but it keeps me busy and I can't afford to pay someone to fix it up. All you can do is take one day at a time. Try find something that will give you some Peace. Try to eat well and get as much rest as you can. I hope you gave some good support . X
Hello
Three months is very early for you. Everything you feel will be very raw and everything will still feel very surreal as if it hasn't happened. Your head will be all over the place and you may experience feelings of shock, anger, anxiety to name just a few. Do you have close family and friends? Just lean on them for the time being and accept all offers of help and support going and just take things a day at a time for now too. I am three years into my loss since I lost my husband to bowel cancer. Things have got a bit easier but I still have my bad days and the grief still comes in waves even still after 3 years but then grief doesn't have a time limit and you learn to live round it. My husband missed our son's wedding in February 2025 and our oldest granddaughter starting school last August and the birth of our 2nd little granddaughter last October can't believe she is almost a year old. Just keep coming here when you feel the need we all get it and a good support for once another. Take care of yourself and sending you best wishes.
Vicky
