Does anyone find the weekends longer and lonelier than weekdays, everyday is hard but these seem harder, today feels endless and he's a constant in my thoughts, I thought I had a better week this wePensive but today it's hurting Pensive

  • Just back from a dance show my wee oldest granddaughter was in. Nice to catch up with some of the `extended family` for a little while and then home again to an empty house. Even sitting in amongst them I just felt lost because it was my daughter-in-law's sister and her partner who were there along with her dad and William of course (my son)  Her dad is in the same position as myself as he lost his wife to stomach cancer just the year after I lost Jay. Good to see the baby again (my youngest granddaughter) she is growing so fast almost 8 months already she's still not to sure who I am but hopefully that will come as my daughter in law is going back to work in July and apparently I'm getting roped into babysitting. They were going to put the wee one into the nursery but for what it would cost in monthly nursery fees my daughter in law would be working for nothing. So they are trying to work that one of them is there during the week and the other at weekends to look after the girls she just needs to get her hours sorted out. So that's the plan but we'll see if anything comes out of it. So got me out for a little while if nothing else.

  • Looking after grandchildren will be a blessing, they remind you of all the good that come from your life together, we had 4 daughters and I have 14 grandchildren, they were my husband's proudest achPensivevements, till the very end, our eldest granddaughter is 23 and she grew very close to him at the end, he told her she deserves the world and that still makes her cry, she was there the day before hePensiveassed when he finally said he was scared, it broke her because he was so strong and the last vulnerable moments were so humbling to spend with him. He is my inspiration in strength and courage Pensive
