Today I visited Nic's grave to see his headstone which was installed yesterday.
It made everything that he went through, and his passing, so final.
Two years, three months and nine days since Nic died, I finally have to accept that he's gone. It's written in stone for ever.
Very sad and emotional.
Hi nicsmrs.
I still have this stage to negotiate as the headstone is on order and due in the next 1-2 months. I am 1½ years into this journey and the pain is still there, I've just learnt to cope with it better. Ordering the headstone and deciding on the inscription was such a big step and it took me several weeks to decide on what to put. I just found it so hard to do and, like you say, it will all become so final.
My thoughts are with you.
Stay strong.
Derek
