Hi, my grandad passed away on the 2nd July
He was only diagnosed in May with stomach cancer which had spread to the liver.
It was such a rollercoaster with him having internal bleeds and supporting with radiotherapy and also blood transfusions. I was with him every step of the way.
The consultant did not offer chemo due to the stage and his age.
He was 83 and toward the end he was significantly struggling to breathe and in the morning of the 2nd July passed away with my grandma holding his hand and I was in the home too.
I am thankful he had us and was in his bed.
Some symptoms I knew he was declining was significant brain fog and breathing difficulties.
however - it still feels so quick and so soon. He was and will always will be my everything and my only father figure.
I’m really struggling to accept he’s gone
