One thing I’ve noticed today is that I’m finding little things so much more stressful at the moment… I don’t know if it’s related to me losing my great auntie, but we did a group exercise together and I got so stressed out with it I nearly ended up in tears
Hi SummerJ
Two main things are a) you are going through a very difficult time which makes any stressful situation seem a lot worse, and, b) you mentioned you have autism which has one big issue that it causes anxiety, stress, nervousness. Either a or b would be hard enough for most people but combining the two makes it way, way harder. Try finding some relaxing techniques and during these talk to your auntie asking her to comfort you, close your mind to everything and await the peaceful feeling and signs she is there to help. Not sure what the group session was but, and this is only my opinion not a proper analysis, if it was bereavement support I think it best to cope with it alone for a while or with someone 1-2-1 before hearing other people talk about it. Look at the in your area link in my original answer to find a local Macmillan service who may be able to offer you 1-2-1 with a professional or a volunteer who is there to listen and support but not advise. Here are some other links you can try to find 1-2-1 support - other support.
Hope everything feels better soon.
