After losing my older sister in July last year I have now lost my mum 7 months to the day.. I am totally devastated as we were each other’s support & im going to miss her so much, I feel so alone & just numb at the moment
Claoire, I’m so sorry. I can’t offer advice, but I am going through something similar. I lost my mum 18 months ago and me and my dad got through it together, and then he was diagnosed and I lost him 4 months ago. Any spare time I was not with my kids or working I was with them, caring and also socially.
i am still on the list for bereavement counselling, and hoping that will help. I feel adrift with time on my hands now after being so constantly on ‘high alert’ I miss my friendship with my parents and also talking about them.
the double loss will have affected you in so many ways, please talk to friends, go out for walks and think about counselling. You are not alone.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
