I am new to the group but have popped in from time to time just to read some similar stories and responses.
For the last year I have watched my daughter go through hell just to survive, she was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer of the ovaries and pelvic area in December 2021. The last year has been one of hospitals,pain and ongoing infections which caused chemo to be stopped so many times mainly through nephrostomy bags not getting cleaned, falling out and nurses putting dressing after dressing on top of old ones instead of changing .
I have spent my last year with my daughter chasing GPs for her pain relief, finding her sitting in urine from leaking bags and wet beds while she was in hospital, unsafe discharges one discharge was when she had been in 2 weeks and they wanted to discharge her with high heart rate and leaking bags I was told to take her home if not they would put her in discharge lounge, we took her home and she was back less than 48 hours later and made to sit in Aand E for 13 hours.
My daughter passed away on 20th November at home and I'm devastated that our last year together was so traumatic she was my first born and I'm in so much pain right now, I know this group will understand my pain and any advice would be appreciated on how to cope. Love to all x
