This is it. Tomorrow, on the 5th, we are going to lay my lovely, vibrant, caring Kathy, the woman I love more than life itself, in her grave. This is where 32 years of gloriously happy marriage ends.
I've done everything I can for her, made everything as I hope she would have wanted. Getting through tomorrow won't be easy, but I feel I must do it as my last kindness to her.
Whatever went wrong in life, from money problems to car crashes, she'd say "Yes, but we've still got each other."
Except now we haven't. Somehow I've got to walk on into that vast, empty future and try to build a new life without her.
Goodbye my one true love.
Goodbye Kathy. I still love you.
