Hi everyone,
When we're 'feline' a little 'ruff', we know that animals can be a great source of comfort
We thought this was a great ‘op-purr-tunity’ to share a little 'pawsitivity' across the Community by sharing some pics and stories of our furry (and not-so-furry) friends
I love my cats so much and they’ve been such a support to me and my family over the last few weeks, bringing us joy by… simply being cute! I’m delighted to introduce you to Messrs Viktor Pickles and Samuel L Catson, collectively known as ‘The Bwats’ (black & white cats).
We’d love to meet your pets or favourite creatures through photos and funny ‘tails’, so please do share ‘whatev-fur’ you have We can't wait to see.
Sorry to hear that Conan has been poorly but glad that he is recovering. Benji sends best woofs
Aw thanks Benji. You're a lovely dog, Conan would like you.
Conan has had Addison's disease since he was born, he has to have a steroid injection every 8 weeks so he has cost a few quid but we love him to bits. He's really friendly with other dogs, his tail wags away. Not a bad bone in his body.
Hi tvman . Sorry to hear about Conan. I hope things pick up. Our German Shep Ruby is now 12 which is old for a big dog, She has white whiskers to match mine. We used go on long walks and runs but recently she has slowed down. We get so far and she just stops and looks at me with a sad face to say "let's go home ". So now I'm not getting the exercise now either. Best wishes.
Benji can bit ofba handful If he is on his lead he and sees another dog and can be quite vocal (little dog syndrome) but most of the time is really friendly. He is coming up to seven and we originally we were going to foster him but he has been with us full time about three months prior to covid hitting.
Hi Riley and Mick, we took Conan to the vet's today because his (very expensive) painkillers were finished and the vet couldn't believe the change in how he is walking now. She said that dogs of his age don't normally recover from the muscle pull that happened to him which is probably why she was hinting that his time was up. He seems to have put it out of his mind (like we do). She also said in a previous consultation not to take him for big long walks and today told us to give him 1-1½ paracetamol twice a day instead of the (very expensive) pain killers.
So now we only need to pay for his 8 weekly steroid injection! Plus consultation fee!
Take care both of you, great to hear about your dogs

I know we wouldn't have it any other way but our pets can be expensive but the end of the day the companionship, love and support they provide cannot be measured. Best wishes x
Hi Mick, what really annoys me is when your dog or cat etc develop a condition as Conan did and the insurance company pay for the initial treatment but won't pay any more because it's then a "previous condition" or words to that effect.
Tvman x
Not sure but I would have thought that if you don't change insurer they shouid pay for the ongoing treatment.
I paid pet insurance for ten years without a single claim. When my dog passed her 10th birthday I got a letter saying vet fees have gone up and my policy wouldn't cover anything and they cancelled the policy without offering any alternative. Being cynical, I wondered if they were getting out as German Shepherds could start having mobility issues in later age. I had to take a policy out with a different insurer. Best wishes.
