This is a Cancer Website

1 minute read time.

I have never posted a blog before, today I am because I am so outraged by what I have been reading in the blogs today. I am posting this in support of those of us who are sick to the back teeth of the actions of a thoughtless few who day after day continue to post Jokes (although most of them barely qualify as that they are so pathetic and crass). I am absolutely appalled at the behaviour of some people and their nastiness towards others here, and don't for a moment believe comments like 'get a life' when said in Cancer community, are 'innocent remarks' or acceptable, especially when they are directed at the terminally ill. When the Admins made a perfectly acceptable alternative place to post jokes, I had hoped that they would stay out the blogs, because they aren't the right place for them. As others have said, this isn't a joke website, there are countless of them out there on the internet if that's what you need. Just Google 'Jokes' its NOT rocket science. I will say it plain and straight too, I don't believe its a mistake when the Jokes are still posted in the blogs - the same people make the same mistake day after day after day and have done for weeks. People gently try to tell them that it is inappropriate, but they ignore it, they have NO interest in anyone else's needs but their own. I think its time the Admins took stronger action to enforce the ruling on Jokes in the blog section, as it is clearly being flouted by those with little or no consideration for others needs, or respect for their wishes. This is a Cancer Support Website - if cancer bothers you, or people discussing it troubles you, I suggest you are in the WRONG place.

a cancer community; a support network - but sorry where does it say that people with cancer, or who care for someone with cancer or who have lost someone to cancer, can't enjoy a joke now and then. Provided they are in the jokes section, you can either read them or not - your choice, but not everyone is as computer literate and the first few times it can be confusing. I don't believe anyone posts jokes in the wrong place on purpose - its a mistake and we all make them.

A mistake , the same mistake, every day, sometimes 5 or six time a day. That is stretching the definition of mistake beyond that which is credible.

Amazingly, you had absolutely no trouble finding your way here, or to the other post to bleat and try and justify your disgusting behaviour.

Is it an intermittent problem with your eyes? Sometimes you seem to be able to see perfectly to post in exactly the right place, despite the fact the posts have moved down the queue. And yet you fail to be able to find the big yellow smiley Jokes Logo to the Jokes Group thats as plain as the nose on your face.

Not sure what is more offensive, that you are an apologist for people think its ok to make crass remarks at the terminally ill, or that you think we are all so stupid that we for one minute would believe the excuses you have provided.

As far as I can tell its good that you keep ranting and being defensive about your behaviour, it allows the rest of the people with an ounce of sense to see exactly what you are about and your motives.

Its a simple concept. There is a Jokes Area - USE IT!

Zoe, forgive me if I am being obtuse, being I must be on a different site from you. I do not see jokes posted on the home page every day, let alone 5 or 6 times a day.

As for people seeing exactly what is going on, I think you are taking things a bit too far. Why not let the matter drop now you have said your piece?

I have never posted 5 or 6 times a day to the wrong place, get your facts right. I have no problems finding my way around site, i am pc literate and have been for years. I have trouble seeing little boxes on the site and other small things. Intermittent as in a 4 year problem. I do not intend to defend myself to you. You are obviously a self righteous person and full of your own importance and causing distress to many people now. I have reported your tone and bombastic attitude. AMEN

Zoe, I feel that it is right to tell you publicly that I have reported your comments as being offensive and unjustified. I always believe that if I take a course of action I should be prepared to do it in the full light of day so to speak. The reasons I have done this are set out in by report which I am pasting below.

The original thread was about the posting of jokes on the main blog page instead of posting in the 'jokes' group.

Along with other members of this site I regularly post in the correct place. I was deeply offended by the tone of this post, and the original submission by the member. I added a comment earlier in the discussion to this effect and suggested a pm would have been more justified instead of a public tongue lashing.

Subsequent to me adding this comment other members have also posted similar thoughts, mostly in a tone that seeks to lessen or end this furore.

However the original member starting the thread continues to insist - wrongly that jokes are incorrectly placed when this is surely not the case. I can bring to mind only two occasions when posts have been wrongly submitted, and yes I do visit the site on a daily basis and I do read most of the blog posts. I feel sure that any record held by admin will support this.

I note that the member who made the error in posting wrongly has not joined in the discussion, and this is hardly surprising due to the nastiness of the attack on her. The accusation that posts have been put on the main site DAILY is wrong and offensive. It is also IMPOSSIBLE to know if this has been done deliberately or in error.

I hope that the thread starter will take time to consider her remarks as being wrong and offensive. If this is not the case then admin should determine a course of action to resolve this matter.
