why do people not understand

Less than one minute read time.

Today i had a meeting with HR and my matron AND  all i heared was blah blah blah blah.

They dont understand how stressful it can be trying to constrate at work when you know someone is dying.

Yes im going to have more mingraines and yes im going to have to take time off work with them.

They really dont understand how i feel and i try to keep them informed about lil mans condition but they dont want to know. The thing what gets me is when i first told them they said to me if i need any support all i have to do is ask, I WENT TO THEM FOR SUPPORT AND THEY TOLD ME TO GET BACK TO WORK.

Sorry this is a bit of a rant but i just needed to get it off my chest.

That's awful Sunflower, especially considering your place of work, you would think they would be very understanding and certainly should be.  I'm so sorry they are being so hard on you and rant away, but, that makes my blood boil for you.

    Hi Sunflower,

That is terrible! I know personally that my brain feels like porridge. It is really stressful. You sure don't need added stress from work too.

    Hang in there.

    Hi sunflower

I am so sorry for the way that they have treated you. I am greatful that so far my experiance of NHS understanding has been better, I think unfortunately for you that is because I am lucky that I work in a very supportive department with all very nice people, but I know from friends experiances with health problems (not dealing with relatives dying or grief, granted) that it really can be pot luck. Have you tried occupational health department? they may be able to put some pressure on your bosses to cut you the nessesary slack, afterall if they push you to breaking point it will cost them more in the long run!

    I hope something works out

    take care
