    It's been a rotten week . . . . I was rushed in the Big Scary Hospital in the early hours of Monday Morning. It was not pleasant, and rather frightening ~ the hourly morphine injections helped with the abdo pain, and the IV fluids (passed through my fabbie Hickmann line) were necessary as I was losing a lot of water. I had a hugely raised temperature and was completely out of it for at least 2 days. The usual…

    Well, the hospital got it's act together enough to get me a slot in the chemo unit this afternoon. So, here we go again with the nausea, tiredness and general ick that is IV chemo. Wish me luck.

    Hello there! Goodness, it's been a while hasn't it? Well, finally I have some news ~ and I don't just mean about the puppy who is growing like mad! On Wednesday I had the first Pleurx drain removed (under GA thank you very much!) and a hickman line inserted on my left shoulder to facilitate the next round of IV chemo. No news on when that will start, but atleast with the line in it will happen a lot sooner than…

    You know when you've had an 'Up' there is often a bit of a downer to follow . . . . ? I saw my Oncology Consultant for the last time yesterday. She retires at the end of the month, so I presented her with her very own 'Knit a Pair of Socks' pack as we left ~ she always sees me when I'm knitting in clinic or on the ward. She was very touched, and gave me and my husband lovely hugs. It got a bit emotional, to be honest…
