Missed me?

1 minute read time.
Hello there! Goodness, it's been a while hasn't it? Well, finally I have some news ~ and I don't just mean about the puppy who is growing like mad! On Wednesday I had the first Pleurx drain removed (under GA thank you very much!) and a hickman line inserted on my left shoulder to facilitate the next round of IV chemo. No news on when that will start, but atleast with the line in it will happen a lot sooner than without! Typically, the hospital visit had it's usual run of problems, not least being that I didn't have a bed and wasn't seen by the SHO until 10 am. I should have been second on the list, but by the time I'd done the rounds of bloods, chest Xray and ECG, it was nearly midday and the surgeon was shouting at anyone who would hear him. I did, and he was on the phone in the main ward at the time . . . But it all got done, and I left the ward that evening after harrassing the surgeon. Of course, since then I've felt rather rough but at least it's done now and I can move forward. Hurrah! Oh and as for the puppy? Well, I've never had so much fun. He's adorable and naughty and makes me get out of the house every day for walks. They are only short ones, but neither he nor I are able to do much more. It suits me just fine and that is the main thing. So, after forcing the local pharmacist to give me some Sterile Saline so that the district nurses can flush the Hickman line tomorrow (did I mention that nothing is ever easy?) I'm all set for the rest of my bank holiday weekend. Just need a few more analgesics to make that horse kick on my shoulder go away . . . :)

miss you - was getting worried.  Did check out the newer pictures of Charlie - he is adorable.  I have a new addition after losing Whisk, a very cheeky Westie.

Glad you got the line put in, even with the palava  good luck with the next round of chemo.

    Love Carol xx
