    Friday  27th November

I had my pre op assessment today, it took about 3 hours.

Found that I was taller than I though I was, so that was good.

All tests went fine, met the surgeons again who are doing the operation. They answered all my questions and were very re-assuring.

They plan is to do laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery but this will depend on what they find. Hopefully this will make the recovery quicker if they do…

I had my Colonoscopy Friday at 3 o'clock, nothing to eat from 1PM Thursday. The fasting wasn't a problem but the tea and toast afterwards was like a feast.

The colonoscopy itself was fine, the sedation really makes such a difference.

Thankfully, they did not find anything else so it's all systems go for the operation on 11th December.

I am feeling very lucky at the moment, hope…

My consultant phoned on Thursday evening, the results of my scans were clear, thank God.

I am booked in for the operation at the Lister on 11th December.

They are intending on doing keyhole surgery which should hopefully quicken my recovery time.

This is the best news I could have got
