There have been a few firsts for me in the last week.  It started with Saturday night when I managed to stay up past my usual bedtime of 10pm for the first time.  Husband and I watched the England v Italy game and I stayed awake until 1am.  Of course I ended up wishing I hadn’t bothered when England lost!

This week has been my first break from work since I went back in January.  I don’t usually manage to use up all…

  • This time last year.

Someone reminded me today about what I was doing this time last year.  I remember it well.  The last day of the Financial Year at work and the usual mad rush to get everything done on time.  Except that last year I was also frantically writing pages of instructions for the colleagues who were going to cover my sick leave.  I was also in the middle of teaching my husband how to use the washing machine and change a duvet cover…
