    Recently I was introduced to a lovely lady who had cancer many years ago.  I always enjoy these opportunities.  It really helps me by learning how people have coped and their stories give me hope and encouragement.  This lady particularly interested me as she had a change of career forced on her, but it worked out very well.  She now has a lucrative business doing fortune telling and tarot readings.   She explained to me that…

  • Feeling like I’ve been a wimp.

    I went for my blood test today.   I was determined that I was going to be brave this time but things didn’t go to plan.  It didn’t help that I was told 4 weeks ago that I needed this test but I couldn’t get an appointment before today.  So I’ve been fretting about it for a while.

    The patient before me didn’t turn up so I got to go straight in, which I was very pleased about as I usually get jittery…

    Been getting myself anxious about the prospect of the proposed future dental extractions.  I have a new Dentist, a very pleasant young man.  Kind, reassuring and extremely confident.  He’s newly qualified and he’s never treated a patient before who has had radiotherapy to the jaw area.  I tell him that I’m worried about getting Osteonecrosis.  But he assures me that he learnt all about it during his training…

  • Toothache and Aliens.

    I’ve been having a good time lately.  Season 1 of LA Law has been watched and it was wonderful.  I then took a break from that to enjoy watching the US Open tennis.  The sun has been shining and I have been feeling much more like my old self again.  Until I woke up with raging toothache.

    I left it for a few days in the hope that it would get better, but the pain just got worse until I couldn’t concentrate on anything…
